My Name is Bianca and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor specialising in Neurodiversity in both children and adults. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work to their code of ethics. My therapy room is located in Saltaire, Shipley and is easily accessible from many parts of Bradford. I have experience working with children in supporting and teaching roles from pre-school right through to secondary school and higher education.
I offer counselling, advocacy services and well-being workshops internally and externally for both adults and young people from 11 years of age. I specialise in neurodiversity as well as social, emotional and positive mental health development.
The client is at the centre of everything I do both in the counselling room and out of it. I have a specific skill set due to working in educational settings, personal experience and further training. This enables me to see the gaps where my clients can be better supported in sessions, in work or education settings and at home. I believe strongly that with the right support in place every person can achieve their full potential.
All of my services are available through Sowing Seeds Tuition as private referrals or part of a package along side other services provided by Sowing Seeds.
I have studied Therapeutic counselling from levels 1 to 4.
I have personal experience of autism in my family and in my previous job role supporting people with additional needs. I have also had experience counselling clients with autism and I feel that I can create a safe and understanding space for clients to communicate.
I have worked with both self-harm and suicidal ideation and I feel confident to explore these issues in counselling session. I believe that creating a safe space to talk about self-harm and suicide can be a prevention in itself.
I have trained with Bradford Bereavement in grief and loss and the stages that people can go through when faced with loosing someone they care about. Loosing a loved one is one of the hardest life events we can go through, making sense of what seems senseless is hard to do alone.
Mental health is much more to the forefront of people's awareness and as a counsellor I have worked with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and social isolation.
I have attended training on domestic violence including what to look out for, what abuse is and what we can do to safeguard people in these situations.
